Bone Diagram

A Bone Diagram is a reflection and planning tool. It helps us document and understand the current situation, the desired future situation and the forces that will help and restrain progress.

This template can be printed and used to document a bone diagram.

Capacity Matrix

A Capacity Matrix, developed by Myron Tribus and David Langford, details the capacities to be developed and enables the depth of learning to be monitored against each capacity. The enables students to display their learning as it progresses.

Capacity Matrix Template (MS Excel 18k)
This template, as an Excel spreadsheet, can be used as the basis for developing capacity matrices in any curriculum area.

This template, in MS Word format, can be used as the basis for developing capacity matrices in any curriculum area.

Capacity Matrix Template (Landscape) (MS Word 71k)
This template, in MS Word format, can be used as the basis for developing capacity matrices in any curriculum area.

Control Chart

A Control Chart enhances the observation of varation performance data by displaying data pictorially, including the upper and lower limits of natural variation (called control limits) for that process or system. The template below allows you to plot a Run Chart and Histogram of your data on the one chart before calculating and plotting the Control Limits.

This template can be used to manually plot Run Charts, Histograms and Individuals Control Charts.

Decision and Action Record

Meetings can be enhanced by obtaining clarity on the Purpose of the meeting, the desired Outcomes, agreed Process or agenda and criteria for Evaluating the success of the meeting (using the POPE tool).

As the meeting progresses, details of the actions and agreements can be recorded in a standard format and distributed to participants before they leave the meeting. This can save a lot of time writing, waiting for and reading meeting minutes.

Decision and Action Record Template (MS Word 89k)
This template, in MS Word format, can be used to capture the actions and agreements from meetings. Use it either as the basis for hand written notes, or as a template for electronic capture during the meeting.

Deployment Flowchart

The deployment flowchart was developed by Dr Myron Tribus. It identifies each step in a process along with who is responsible for taking action at each step. Refer to our Process Flowcharting Guide for details on how to prepare flowcharts.

This template, in MS Visio format, can be used to document a deployment flowchart.

Fishbone Diagram

A Fishbone Diagram, or Cause and Effect Diagram, can be used to identify and document the possible causes of a given effect.

Gantt Chart

A Gantt Chart is a planning tool can be used to identify, document, schedule track progress against the steps necessary to complete a project.

A Lotus Diagram is an analytic tool for breaking broad topics into their components.

A Measures selection matrix provides a structured approach to the selection of performance measures.

Measures Definition Template

An Operational Definition document precisely what is to be measured and how to measure it. This template also details responsibility for data collection, collation, reporting, anlaysis and action.

Perception Analysis

A Perception Analysis tool provides a simple way to collect, collate and record stakeholder requirements, priorities and preceptions.

Potential Improvements Matrix

A Potential Improvements Matrix is a tool for clarifying specific improvement ideas to address root causes of poor performance and prioritising these for implementation.

Radar Chart

Radar Charts can be used to plot many pieces of data on the one chart. For example, key indicators of school performance can be plotted on one or two Radar Charts and tracked to show improvement over time.
