Our aim in providing direct support is always to assist your team develop an effective solution while building capacity for ongoing improvement.

Examples of our work include:

  • development of shared direction and planning processes for the school community
  • addressing specific problems facing the school using the Plan-Do-Study-Act improvement cycle and quality improvement tools (eg. improving the mathematics program, curriculum design, student behaviour management, etc.)
  • one-to-one and small group mentoring.

Performance Evaluation

Staff, Student and Parent Perception Surveys

The Quality Learning Perception Surveys are designed to measure the exent to which staff, students and parents are having a positive experience of school. An integrated set of questionnaires has been designed for:

  • Students (currrently year four and above)
  • Staff (including administration and support staff)
  • Parents.

School Self Assessment

The Quality Learning School Self Assessment has been developed to allow schools to explore the extent to which the school leadership and management processes are consistent with the Quality Learning principles.

The process enables schools to:

  • Engage in dialogue about student learning, school performance and Quality Learning
  • Evaluate school learning to identify opportunities for improvement, inform planning and set priorities
  • Measure progress in growth of organisational learning and application of the Quality Learning approach
  • Identify where specific and additional support may be required.

Have a quick look at our example. You may wish to purchase our more comprehensive Learning and Improvement Guide: Quality Learning School Self Assessment.

Some schools choose to have QLA facilitate the self assessment process, particularly where they wish to involve a large number of stakeholders.

Plotting School Performance Data

Many schools have a great deal of performance data. Identifying the key data to track performance can be a challenge. Several schools we have worked with have chosen to plot this key data as a Radar Chart. We can help you use data effectively to assist planning, decision making and to drive improvement.

We can support your improvement efforts - contact us to explore how.
