2 + 2 Quality Learning Follow-up Seminars

David Langford in cooperation with Quality Learning Australia has developed a 2 + 2 follow-up training cycle open to all teachers and administrators. The first two days are focused on leadership issues related to improving learning and the second two days are focused onimproving learning in the classroom. Participants are welcome to attend either 2-day session or both.

Prerequisite Training

Previous attendance at David's 4-Day Quality Learning Seminar or similar training sessions offered by Quality Learning Australia is required to participate in either the classroom or leadership follow-up training.

2-Day Quality Learning in the Classroom Follow-up Seminar

Deepen your knowledge of Quality Learning in the Classroom through learning more about:

• Translating state and national curriculum standards into Capacity Matrices.
• Creating student-led learning projects aligned to Capacity Matrices.
• Curriculum mapping an entire year with Gantt Charts.
• Integrating projects with other subject areas.
• Creating student portfolios.
• Managing self-paced classrooms.
• Assessing and monitoring performance.
• Quality Learning tools specifically related to brain research.

Be prepared to:

• Bring a laptop computer.
• Share examples of tools and projects they have tried.
• Receive feedback from other participants.
• Be ready to download video and examples they can take back to share with others.
• Be challenged and have fun in an interactive environment.

+2-Day Quality Learning Leadership for Learning Seminar

Strengthen your Leadership for Learning by:

• Understanding more about Profound Knowledge: the theory of improvement.
• Learning how tools can be used to improve systems.
• Exploring how to coach and manage learning and teaching teams.
• Deepening knowledge of using PDSA for whole campus improvement.
• Practicing Quality Learning tools.
• Learning from other participants.
• Sharing challenges and successes.

Be prepared to:

• Bring a laptop computer.
• Share examples of tools and projects they have tried.
• Receive feedback from other participants.
• Be ready to download video and examples they can take back to share with others.
• Be challenged and have fun in an interactive environment.

Who is David Langford

David Langford is a world renowned speaker, writer and educator on Quality implementation in education. As a high school teacher in Alaska in 1988, David was the first classroom teacher to apply Deming's philosophy and methods to the improvement of student learning - with dramatic results.

David draws extensively upon this experience to provide a practical 'how to' guide to improving the quality of learning.

Date and Venue

Registration commences at 8.30am on day one for a prompt start at 9.00am. Thereafter the program is expected to commence at 8.30am and conclude approximately 4.00pm each day.

Cost

The cost for each of the two-day seminars is $600 per person inclusive of GST. This price includes participation in the seminar, seminar resources, coffee and tea on arrival, morning and afternoon tea plus buffet lunch.

The Fine Print

Confirmation: A letter of acknowledgement, tax invoice and information pack will be sent to you upon receipt of your seminar registration form. Payment is required at the time of registration and your place cannot be confirmed until payment is received in full.

Cancellations: Where QLA is notified of a cancellation in writing at least thirty (30) days prior to the seminar, a full refund less a $100 cancellation fee can be made. Cancellations received after this time cannot be refunded. Substitutions can be accepted at any time at no additional charge.

Very occasionally, events may be postponed or cancelled by QLA due to circumstances beyond QLA’s control. In this rare circumstance, QLA will make every effort to contact those registered for the event as quickly as possible. If the event is cancelled, your payment will be refunded in full. If an event is postponed and you are unable to attend the new date, your payment will be refunded in full. QLA will not be liable for any loss or damage, including costs of travel and accommodation, incurred as a result of the postponement or cancellation.

Photographs & Videos: Please be aware that photographs and moving images may be recorded during seminars by QLA for promotional and other purposes.

Privacy: Quality Learning Australia respects your privacy. When processing your order, application or form we collect personal information from you for the primary purpose of providing you with our products and services. We may also use this information to inform you of our other related products and services. We do not make your personal information available to other organisations without your consent, and we never sell your personal information.
