Foundations
in Quality Learning

Foundations in Quality Learning is a series of five professional development seminars, usually completed over a two year period.

The seminars help you improve student learning, classroom practice, relationships and whole-school performance.

The seminars are intended for school communities, regions and district offices who are serious about building capacity for sustainable performance improvement through Quality Learning.

Organisations identify a team, of size appropriate to the organisation, to lead the learning and implementation.

Each seminar is tailored to the specific priorities and needs of participants, and is of two days duration.

What can be learned?

The seminars are designed to develop knowledge and know-how in:

  • the Quality Learning philosophy
  • viewing the school and classrooms as interconnected systems
  • reducing confusion, waste and re-work by documenting systems and processes
  • applying proven tools and methods to increase student engagement and learning
  • supporting students to accept responsibility for their learning
  • using data to track progress and improve decision making
  • the psychology of motivation and change.

Included in Foundations in Quality Learning is the 4-day Quality Learning Seminar with our US associate David Langford.
